According to the latest University of Minnesota research:
"MINNESOTA WATER IS GETTING SALTIER. There's no doubt that road salt helps drivers, but what happens to the chemical when spring arrives? U researchers discovered that salt is flowing into lakes and rivers. Civil engineering professor Heinz Stefan says this will affect aquatic life and drinking water."
